anubias-barteri-var-nana-on-wood
Anubias barteri var. nana on Wood

This Anubias barteri var. nana arrives already rooted to a piece of mangrove wood, so you can lower it straight into the tank without tying or gluing anything yourself. Its slow growth and long-lived leaves help keep trimming to a minimum, which suits freshwater aquascapers after steady foreground or midground greenery. Herbivorous fish leave it alone, so it also holds its own in community tanks with grazing species.

Anubias barteri var. nana on Wood is a compact aquarium plant supplied pre-attached to a piece of mangrove wood, so there is no tying, gluing or waiting for it to take hold yourself.

Native to Cameroon, this variety stays small, reaching roughly 5 to 10 cm in height, with a rhizome that extends to 10 to 15 cm or more over time. Growth is slow and the leaves last for several years, which keeps upkeep low but also gives slow-growing algae time to settle on older leaves.

It suits freshwater planted tanks of most sizes, working well as a foreground or midground feature anchored to hardscape rather than buried in gravel. Because it is not eaten by herbivorous fish, it is a dependable choice for community set-ups that include grazing species.

Given the right conditions, it flowers occasionally underwater, adding a point of interest beyond the foliage. If you ever move it off the wood and onto substrate, keep the rhizome uncovered, since burying it tends to cause rot.

What you get: one Anubias barteri var. nana plant, already rooted to its piece of mangrove wood and ready to place in the aquarium.

Specification

Detail

Difficulty

Easy

Mounted on

Wood

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0922/0610/4949/files/anubias-barteri-var-nana-on-wood-standard.jpg?v=1792402820
