evolution-aqua-k-advanced-filter
Evolution Aqua K+ Advanced Filter

This pressure filter keeps pond water clear without needing a bulky external system, using Evolution Aqua's own K+ Media to trap fine debris and give beneficial bacteria somewhere stable to colonise. Every filter arrives ready to plumb in, with its media charge, pipework, an air blower and a multiport valve all included, so you're not sourcing extra parts before you start. Four sizes cover ponds from around 18,000 up to 91,000 litres, so you can match the filter to your actual pond volume rather than paying for capacity you don't need.

Overview

The K+ Advanced Filter is a pressure filter for ponds, moulded as one continuous body rather than assembled from separate panels, and built specifically around Evolution Aqua's own K+ Media rather than being sold as a generic housing that takes whatever media happens to fit. It helps keep pond water clear by combining mechanical filtration down to a fine particle size with a bed that supports the biological bacteria colony your fish rely on. It's aimed at pond keepers running anything from a modest 18,000-litre pond up to a much larger 91,000-litre one, across four filter sizes.

What sets it apart

Because the body is produced by rotational moulding, it comes out as a single homogeneous piece with consistent wall thickness and built-in feet, rather than a shell bonded together from separate parts. That removes the joint lines that can become weak points on other filters over time. Inside, double laterals help push water through the bed of K+Media evenly, which reduces back pressure on your pump and keeps running costs down. The media itself has minerals and enzymes added during manufacture, which is why it matures and starts working faster than plain media, and its performance has been checked independently by IFTS and Cranfield University.

Choosing your size

The four models differ in diameter, the maximum pond volume they're rated for, the optimum flow rate they're designed around, how much K+Media is supplied, and the size of multiport valve fitted.

K+ Advanced Filter 20: 20" (500mm) diameter, up to 18,000 litres, optimum flow 6,000 litres per hour, 50 litres of K+Media supplied, 1½" multiport valve

K+ Advanced Filter 24: 24" (620mm) diameter, up to 36,000 litres, optimum flow 12,000 litres per hour, 100 litres of K+Media supplied, 2" multiport valve

K+ Advanced Filter 30: 30" (750mm) diameter, up to 54,500 litres, optimum flow 18,000 litres per hour, 150 litres of K+Media supplied, 2" multiport valve

K+ Advanced Filter 36: 36" (900mm) diameter, up to 91,000 litres, optimum flow 30,000 litres per hour, 250 litres of K+Media supplied, 2" multiport valve

Start from your pond's actual volume, pick the smallest model rated above it, then check that your pump's flow sits close to the optimum figure listed for that model rather than well above or below it.

What's included

Each filter is supplied with its full charge of K+Media, pipework, an air blower and a multiport valve, so the core parts needed to get it running are in the box.

Installation and use

It can be run as a standalone filter, paired with a Nexus+, or plumbed onto a skimmer line, depending on how your system is set up.
