Suitable for pond keepers using K1 moving bed media or other filter types, with sizes to suit a range of pond volumes.

Overview Pure Pond is a tub of biodegradable bacteria balls designed to sit inside your pond filter's biological chamber, releasing live bacteria gradually rather than all at once. Each tub contains bacteria balls only, in your chosen volume of 500ml, 1000ml or 2000ml, ready to add straight into the chamber. It's suited to pond keepers running a biological filter stage, whether that's K1 moving bed media or another filter type, and adding it monthly helps keep the ammonia and nitrite cycle more stable for a healthier environment.

Key benefits The natural enzymes in the balls work to break down organic waste, which leaves the water clearer over time. Because the bacteria release slowly, the biological chamber gets topped up steadily between doses rather than receiving a single burst. In an Evolution Aqua Nexus filter, the balls circulate freely alongside the K1 media, keeping them in good contact with the water passing through.

Choosing your size Pure Pond comes in three tub sizes, each rated to treat a specific maximum pond volume. Match the tub to your total pond volume rather than its surface area for the most accurate dose.

Specification

Detail

Format

Biodegradable bacteria balls

Bacterial content

Over 8,000,000,000 live bacteria per litre

Pond coverage (500ml)

Up to 10,000 litres

Pond coverage (1000ml)

Up to 20,000 litres

Pond coverage (2000ml)

Up to 40,000 litres

Compatible filter media

K1 moving bed media and other filter media types

Effective against green water

No; an appropriate UVC is recommended instead
