geum-rivale-marginal-pond-plant
Geum rivale Marginal Pond Plant

A native marginal plant that keeps pond edges in flower for months, with nodding, bell-shaped pink blooms held on slender stems through the growing season. It's suited to pond margins in full sun or part shade, and asks for very little looking after once established. Available as single ready-potted plants or as a pack of three young plants for bigger planting runs.

Geum rivale is a native marginal pond plant that flowers continuously from May to September, producing nodding, bell-shaped pink blooms on slender stems. Grown at the shallow margin of a pond, it gives the planting scheme months of colour without needing a deep planting shelf. It also grows slowly, so it won't quickly outgrow its allotted space at the water's edge.

What you get depends on the size chosen: a 1 litre or 3 litre plant already potted in its own mesh aquatic basket and ready to place in the pond, or a pack of three younger plants each in a 9cm pot that you pot up yourself before planting.

Specification

Detail

Sun/Shade

Full sun to part shade

Flowers

May to Sep

Colour

Pink

Growth rate

Slow

Care instructions

Little maintenance is required.
