It helps you build dense foreground cover even in tanks with limited lighting, and its undemanding nature suits both new and experienced keepers.

Schismatoglottis prietoi is a rosette-forming aquarium plant that resembles Anubias in leaf shape, but grows faster and spreads by sending out runners once it is rooted in the substrate. Its elliptic leaves measure 3 to 8cm long. Planted in the bottom layer of the tank, it helps fill a foreground area with dense, natural-looking cover over time, rather than staying as a single, slow-growing clump.

It is an undemanding plant that tolerates poor lighting well, making it a workable option for tanks where fussier foreground species would struggle. In the wild it grows along riverbanks in the Philippines, often forming large, dense colonies, a habit that carries over into aquarium conditions once it has settled in.

You receive a pack of three 1-2-Grow! cups of young, tissue-cultured starter plants ready for dividing and planting into your aquarium's substrate. It's currently only available in this young-plant format, so expect small specimens that need some time and root space before they fill out as ground cover.

Specification

Detail

Origin

Asia

Difficulty

Easy

Aquarium placement

Foreground

AquaticsHub
1-2-Grow!
