Its centre unscrews to give you a permanent access point, letting you remove or replace a length of pipe or an inline component without cutting into the rest of the system.

Overview

A solvent weld demountable union whose centre section unscrews, which allows you to access a length of pipe, a pump, or another inline component without cutting into the surrounding pipework. That's the difference from a standard solvent weld coupling, which becomes permanent once welded.

It suits koi pond, irrigation, and general PVC or CPVC pipework where you're likely to need access again, for servicing, replacement, or an upgrade. Fit two of these either side of a component and you can unscrew the centre section, lift that part out, and reconnect once you're done, without disturbing the rest of the run.

What you get: one solvent weld demountable union connector.

Key benefits

Both ends solvent weld onto PVC or CPVC pipe for a secure joint on installation. Once fitted, the union becomes a built-in access point you can return to, rather than cutting the pipe out each time something needs attention. The body is made from corrosion-resistant material, suited to ongoing exposure in pond and outdoor plumbing runs.

### Choosing your size This fitting is listed under two measurements, one taken across the inside of the pipe and one across the outside. Check which measurement matches your existing pipe or fittings before ordering, as only one size is currently available.

Specification

Detail

Nominal size

1.5 inch

Internal diameter (ID)

43mm

Outside diameter (OD)

50mm

Connection type

Solvent weld (both ends)

Compatible pipe material

PVC or CPVC

Design

Demountable union, centre section unscrews

https://aquaticshub.co.uk/products/solvent-weld-demountable-union-connector-43mm-id-50mm-od-1-5-pipe-fitting
