Tissue Culture Cup

Taxiphyllum sp. 'Flame Moss' suits aquascapers who want a defined, upright moss feature rather than a loose creeping carpet. It gives your layout a tight cluster of vertical shoots that holds its shape once attached to stones or driftwood, spreading slowly outward so it won't swamp neighbouring plants. You receive a pack of three tissue-cultured cups (1-2-Grow! format), ready to rinse and divide before mounting.

Taxiphyllum sp. 'Flame Moss' grows upright into tight, flame-shaped shoots instead of creeping flat across surfaces the way many common aquarium mosses do. That growth habit is what gives it its name and sets its look apart in a planted tank.

It suits keepers who want a defined vertical accent rather than a sprawling carpet. The slow horizontal spread helps it hold its shape once attached, so it stays where you place it instead of creeping into neighbouring plants.

Each shoot reaches roughly 5 to 15cm, forming a small cluster in the middle area of the layout where its shape is easiest to appreciate. It's best tied or wedged in small bundles onto stones or driftwood rather than planted directly into substrate.

You receive a pack of three tissue-cultured portions, each supplied in a 1-2-Grow! cup, ready to rinse and divide into smaller clumps before attaching them to your chosen hardscape.

Specification

Detail

Origin

Asia

Difficulty

Medium

Format notes

1-2-Grow!: Aquarium plant from tissue culture in closed cup

Aquarium placement

Midground

AquaticsHub
1-2-Grow!
