Shoots reach 1 to 3cm and keep a fleshy, teardrop shape as they hang downward rather than growing upright. It's supplied either as a pack of three 1-2-Grow! tissue-culture cups or as a single loose Portion, so you can pick the format that suits how you want to plant it.

Vesicularia ferriei 'Weeping Moss' is a fine aquarium moss that hangs and drapes rather than growing upright, with teardrop-shaped bright green shoots reaching 1 to 3cm. That drooping habit sets it apart from upright mosses and is the reason aquascapers reach for it.

Tied onto driftwood or root wood, the weeping growth helps add depth and contrast to a planted layout, letting strands trail downward instead of sitting flat against the hardscape.

It suits aquascapers building detailed work around wood and roots near the front of the tank, since the plant needs something to grip rather than open substrate. Driftwood or root wood to attach it to isn't included and will need to be sourced separately.

Growth is fast, and the plant should be trimmed with scissors on a regular basis to keep a neat, compact shape rather than letting it spread unchecked.

What you get: the plant supplied either as a pack of three 1-2-Grow! cups (grown from tissue culture in closed containers) or as a single loose Portion, depending on the option you choose.

Specification

Detail

Origin

Asia

Difficulty

Medium

Format notes

1-2-Grow!: supplied as an aquarium plant grown from tissue culture in a closed cup.

Aquarium placement

Foreground

AquaticsHub
1-2-Grow!
