Will the leaves stay pink without extra equipment?
The manufacturer states that colour development depends on good light, fertiliser and CO2 supplementation, so results will vary without these.

Is this a good plant for beginners?
Is this a good plant for beginners?
It's rated medium difficulty, so it suits aquarists with some prior planted-tank experience rather than complete beginners.
Suitable for aquascapers building colour into the middle layers of a planted tank, this cultivar gives your layout vivid pink leaves with lighter veining. Its more compact habit than other Alternanthera varieties makes growth easier to manage, and trimmed stems can also be grown further towards the front.
Alternanthera reineckii 'Rosanervig' is a cultivar grown for its vibrant pink, light-veined leaves and a growth habit that stays more compact than other Alternanthera varieties. Its stalk doesn't bulk up as thickly, which keeps the plant looking neater as it fills out.
This habit gives your layout a dense splash of pink without the stems sprawling, which suits aquascapers who want colour contrast in the middle of the tank. Once the stems have been trimmed back, cuttings can also be replanted further forward in the layout.
As with other Alternanthera, the manufacturer states that strong lighting, fertiliser and CO2 supplementation support both growth and the intensity of its pink colouration, so these are worth planning for as separate purchases alongside the plant itself.
You receive a pack of five 5 cm pots, ready to divide and plant into your substrate.
