A potted Anubias cultivar with white, light green and dark green patterned leaves that gives your aquascape a slow-growing, low-maintenance foreground feature. Attaching it to rock or wood is straightforward, and with patient care it keeps its colour and shape over time.
Anubias barteri var. nana 'Pinto' is a selected cultivar of Anubias barteri, grown for leaves that carry irregular patterns of white, light green and dark green instead of one solid colour, with the mix differing from leaf to leaf. Leaves typically grow to between 3 and 6 cm, which keeps the plant compact and well suited to detailed foreground work. It suits aquascapers who want a slow-growing, low-maintenance plant to sit near the front of the tank rather than a fast grower that needs constant trimming, and its slow habit helps it hold its shape for a long time once established. What you get: a pack of five pots of Anubias 'Pinto', meant to be attached to rock or wood rather than planted in substrate. Because it's a rhizome plant, the thick stem the leaves grow from must stay uncovered when you attach it, as burying it can cause it to rot. Lighting also needs some attention: better light brings out more of the white patterning, but too much can damage the leaves and encourage algae, so it takes a bit of trial and adjustment to find the right balance for your tank.
