What types of aquariums and tanks do you offer?

We offer a wide range of aquariums and tanks suitable for freshwater, tropical, marine, and coldwater setups. Our selection includes nano aquariums, large display tanks, Betta tanks, and specialised systems designed for long-term performance in UK homes.

Are your aquariums suitable for both beginners and experienced fishkeepers?

Yes, our catalogue includes setups ideal for beginners—easy to install and maintain—as well as advanced systems designed for experienced aquarists. Each product page includes detailed specifications to help you choose the right option.

How do I choose the right tank size for my fish?

Larger tanks are generally more stable and easier to maintain. When choosing a tank, consider the adult size of your fish, their swimming behaviour, compatibility, space availability, and access to electricity. When in doubt, choosing a larger tank is usually recommended.

What equipment do I need to set up a new aquarium?

Most aquariums require a tank and stand, a suitable filter, a heater for tropical setups, appropriate lighting, substrate, decor, water conditioner, and a water testing kit. Many aquariums come pre-packaged with the essential components included.

Do you offer finance or payment plans for larger purchases?

Yes, finance options are available through trusted partners such as Novuna, including 0% APR options on eligible orders. Finance availability is shown on applicable product pages.

Where do you deliver and is there free shipping?

We deliver to most locations across the UK. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout, and free delivery is available on qualifying orders above a certain value.

Can I return a product if it’s not suitable or arrives damaged?

If your product arrives damaged or is not suitable, please contact us with your order number and photos so our team can arrange a repair, replacement, or refund according to our return policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Eleocharis parvula suitable for small aquariums?

Yes. It's described as equally suited to large and small aquariums.

Where should I plant it in my aquascape?

In the foreground. It's a low carpeting plant designed to sit at the front of the layout.

How do I get it to form a solid carpet?

Plant it in several small bunches positioned close together. The runners spread outward and gradually merge the bunches into one dense mat.

Is it difficult to keep?

It carries an easy difficulty rating, making it a reasonable choice even if you haven't grown a carpeting plant before.

What format does it come in?

It's supplied as a pack of five pots, which you then divide into bunches before planting.

View full details

Eleocharis parvula gives you a low, grass-like carpeting plant for the foreground of a freshwater aquarium, supplied potted and ready to divide into bunches. It helps fill in as a dense green mat over time and suits tanks both large and small.

Eleocharis parvula is a low-growing hairgrass that spreads through runners close to the parent plant, which helps it knit together into a solid green carpet rather than staying as separate tufts.

It's suited to aquariums of any size, from large display tanks to small nano setups, and works as a foreground carpet thanks to its naturally low growth. Planting several small bunches close together helps the runners merge faster, filling in the carpet sooner.

You get a pack of five pots of Eleocharis parvula, ready to be divided into smaller bunches for planting. Its straightforward care needs make it a sensible choice if you're planting a carpet for the first time.
