Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to buy any extra fittings to use this?

No. The connectors needed to join the unit to a garden hose or rigid pipework are included.

Does it remove chloramine as well as chlorine?

Yes. Alongside chlorine, it removes chloramine, bromine and a range of other impurities including dyes, organics, antibiotics and hormones.

Which size should I choose?

It depends on how much water you expect to treat before the carbon's capacity is reached. The 12 inch unit treats up to 225,000 litres and the 30 inch unit up to 550,000 litres, both based on 0.5ppm incoming chlorine.

What if my tap water has more chlorine than 0.5ppm?

The stated treatment volumes are based on 0.5ppm incoming chlorine, so higher chlorine levels in your supply will reduce the amount of water the unit can treat before capacity is reached.

A simple inline filter that treats tap water as it comes straight from the hose, so you can fill, top up or change water without waiting for chlorine to disperse or dosing a liquid treatment. Suited to pond keepers and aquarium owners alike, it protects fish by removing chlorine, chloramine and a wide range of other impurities before the water reaches them. Available in two sizes to match different water volumes.

Overview The Evolution Aqua Detox Dechlorinator is an inline carbon filter that treats tap water as it flows into your pond or aquarium, removing the need to dose chemicals or wait for chlorine to disperse naturally. It suits pond keepers and aquarium owners who need treated water for first fills, water changes or routine top-ups. The carbon media inside protects fish by removing chlorine, chloramine and a wide range of other impurities before the water reaches them.

It connects directly to a garden hose or rigid pipework, and the connectors needed for this are supplied. What you get is one Detox Dechlorinator unit in your chosen size, ready to fit without buying separate fittings.

Key benefits Filling straight through the unit means water can go into your system the moment it leaves the tap, rather than standing tanks to let chlorine gas off or measuring out liquid treatments. It also deals with chloramine, bromine, dyes, organics and other contaminants that liquid dechlorinators do not always cover.

Choosing your size Both the 12 inch and 30 inch units run at the same recommended flow rate. The 12 inch model treats a smaller total volume before its capacity is reached, while the 30 inch model treats over double that amount, so the right choice depends on how much water you move through it over time rather than the size of your pond or tank alone.
