Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need glue or solvent cement to fit this connector?
Do I need glue or solvent cement to fit this connector?
No. It seals with a jubilee clip at each end, so you tighten the clip rather than glue the joint, and it's straightforward to fit and remove again.
Can I use this to join pipes made of different materials?
Can I use this to join pipes made of different materials?
Yes, the rubber boot is designed to fit PVC, lead, copper and clay pipe, so you can join two different materials on the same run.
Can the connector be reused if I change my pipework layout?
Can the connector be reused if I change my pipework layout?
Yes. Because it clamps on with jubilee clips rather than being glued in place, you can undo it and refit it somewhere else.
How do I pick the right size?
How do I pick the right size?
Measure the outside diameter of the pipe you're connecting and choose the closest match from the seven sizes available, from 3/4" up to 6".
This flexible rubber connector lets you join pond pipework without gluing, sealing at each end with an adjustable jubilee clip instead of solvent cement. It's built for pond keepers and installers who need to connect, replace or reroute pipe runs, including runs where the pipe materials don't match, and the fitting can be undone and refitted if your layout changes later. It comes in seven sizes so you can match it to the pipe you're working with.
Overview
The Evolution Aqua Eazy Connector Straight is a flexible rubber pipe coupling that seals with an adjustable jubilee clip at each end instead of solvent cement, giving pond keepers and installers a joint they can undo and refit rather than a permanent glued one. It helps you connect pipe sections made from different materials, PVC, lead, copper or clay, on the same run without hunting down matching fittings first. That makes it a practical option whether you're piecing together a new filter system, swapping out a damaged length of pipe, or tying older pond pipework into newer equipment.
Key benefits
- Seals with clips rather than glue, so there's no curing time and no permanent joint
- Joins mixed pipework, connecting PVC to lead, copper or clay on the same run
- Undoes and refits elsewhere if you change your pipe layout later
- Straight-through design for two pipe ends of matching diameter
- A range of sizes to match different pipe diameters
Choosing your size
Because this is the straight version, both ends need to match the same pipe diameter, so it's meant for joining two lengths of equal-sized pipe rather than stepping between two different diameters. Measure the actual outside diameter of your pipe rather than relying on its nominal size, since materials such as clay and lead don't always match their labelled diameter, then pick the closest of the sizes on offer.
