Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to add extra weights to keep the airline on the pond bed?
Do I need to add extra weights to keep the airline on the pond bed?
No. The self-sinking design settles to the bottom of the pond on its own, so additional weights aren't needed.
What happens if I order more than 50 metres?
What happens if I order more than 50 metres?
Orders over 50 metres are made up of separate 50m rolls rather than one continuous length, since each roll is 50m long.
Will the hose hold up to being left outdoors in the pond year-round?
Will the hose hold up to being left outdoors in the pond year-round?
It's made from a PVC-based compound with high resistance to UV light and is designed to resist kinking and cracking.
Designed for pond keepers installing or extending an aeration or air-stone system, this self-sinking airline helps keep the hose down at the pond bed without fitting extra weights. Its black finish keeps the run discreet and tidy along the base of the pond.
This self-sinking pond airline settles to the bottom of the pond under its own weight, which helps you avoid fitting extra weights to keep it submerged. It's suited to pond keepers who are setting up or extending an air pump and diffuser system and want a neat, out-of-sight hose run at the pond base.
Made from a PVC-based compound, the hose has a high resistance to UV light and resists kinking and cracking, so it copes with ongoing outdoor use at the pond bed. The black colour keeps the installation discreet rather than drawing the eye along the pond floor.
What you get: the airline itself, supplied per linear metre. Each roll holds 50m, so if you order more than 50m your order is made up of separate 50m rolls rather than one continuous length, which is worth knowing if an unbroken run matters for your layout.
This airline is supplied in a single 8mm diameter with a 4mm wall thickness throughout, so sizing is simply a case of ordering the number of metres your run needs. Additional weights aren't required, as the self-sinking design takes care of keeping it on the pond bed.
