How it works

Pond water is pumped up through the filter, where the K+Media forms a barrier that catches debris as the water passes through it. That waste stays trapped in the media until you run the Air Clean Technology cleaning process, which is patented and dislodges the debris using air rather than a manual scrub.

**Cleaning and installation** To clean the filter, you turn off the pump, close the ball valves and open the waste valve. Air is then drawn into the filter and mixes with the water inside, which sets the media moving and releases the waste it has trapped, and the dirty water drains away through the waste line while the media itself comes out clean. The stepped hosetails make it straightforward to connect flexible hose, and the clear waste hose lets you see when the water running out has cleared. Mounting brackets are included, and the compact design is useful where there is not much room around the pond for equipment. Wiring the UV clarifier into your mains supply is meant to be simple, though you will still want a suitable outdoor power point in place before you start.
