Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Hygrophila pinnatifida & moss piece mounted on?

It's mounted on wood.

How difficult is this plant to care for?

It's rated medium difficulty, so some aquascaping experience is helpful rather than it being a beginner plant.

How big does the plant get?

Stems grow 15 to 40cm tall and 10 to 20cm wide, at a slow to medium rate.

Can I attach the plant to other decor in my tank?

Yes, its horizontal side shoots attach naturally to wood and rock surfaces.

Does it need particular lighting?

According to the growing notes supplied, intense lighting helps keep growth compact, in line with the plant's slow to medium growth rate.

A piece of mangrove wood with Hygrophila pinnatifida and moss already attached, ready to go straight into a planted aquarium. It saves you the job of tying the plant on yourself and gives your tank an instant natural feature, with burgundy-toned leaf undersides that stand out against a plain background. Suited to aquarists already working with aquascaping plants that need a little more attention than the easiest species.

This is a piece of wood with Hygrophila pinnatifida and moss already grown onto its surface, so there's no need to tie the plant on by hand before placing it in the tank. Having the plant and moss combined on one base gives your aquascape a finished look from the moment it goes in.

Hygrophila pinnatifida originates from India and is known for brown, patched leaves on top with a burgundy underside. That colouring stands out more when the plant is grouped with others of its kind in front of a plain background, giving the layout a stronger focal point.

The plant produces horizontal side shoots that attach naturally to wood and rock, which is how it has been mounted here. Growth is slow to medium, with stems reaching 15 to 40cm tall and 10 to 20cm wide, so it fills in gradually rather than quickly.

This plant suits aquarists with some aquascaping experience behind them rather than a first planted tank. Pinching out the top shoots keeps growth compact and bushy, and stronger lighting supports that same compact habit.

What you get: one piece of wood with Hygrophila pinnatifida and moss attached (Standard size).
