It suits sites that get full sun through to part shade, and it helps bring height, leaf texture and summer colour to the planted edge of a pond.
What you get: one Iris ensata plant, already potted in its mesh aquatic basket, in either the 1 litre or 3 litre size. The basket stays on the plant in both cases, keeping the root system and compost contained once it's in the water.
For the 1 litre plant, start it no deeper than half of the maximum recommended planting depth so it can establish before you lower it further; a bigger basket isn't necessary but will suit it if you have one spare. The 3 litre plant goes straight onto the shelf of the pond at its intended depth. If a plant grows past 60cm, it benefits from a larger mesh basket, or planting into gravel, to stop it toppling in windy conditions; a larger basket isn't included and would need buying separately if you need one.
