A low, creeping plant that spreads into a fast-growing carpet for the front of the aquarium, giving aquascapers dense, even foreground coverage. It suits tanks with strong lighting and CO2 addition, where it rewards the setup with tight, compact growth rather than looser leaves.
Micranthemum tweediei 'Monte Carlo' is a low, creeping aquarium plant that forms a fast-growing carpet across the front of the tank, its rounded leaves knitting together as the stalks spread along the substrate. It suits aquascapers who want a compact green foreground without tall growth crowding the rest of the layout. The plant helps fill the lowest level of a planted tank with an even covering of light green leaves.
You receive the plant either as a pack of five pots ready to go straight into the substrate or as a pack of three 1-2-Grow! cups as an alternative starting point.
It originates from Argentina, within its wider range across South America. In the aquarium it can grow in light shade, though it needs good lighting along with CO2 addition to develop fully and keep its growth tight and compact.
Planted toward the front of the tank, its low creeping growth stays out of the way of taller plants and focal points placed further back.
