Keep it in still water away from splashing fountains, and remove dead leaves and flowers during the growing season to keep it tidy and flowering well.
Suited to larger ponds and lakes, this free-flowering water lily gives you a reliable summer show of large, cup-shaped blooms with golden stamens. It arrives already growing in its mesh aquatic basket, so you lower it straight into the water without any repotting, and its dark green foliage spreads out as the plant establishes.
Nymphaea Gladstoniana is a white water lily grown as a more free-flowering alternative to the native Nymphaea alba, making it a reliable choice for bigger ponds and lakes that need strong seasonal colour. It carries the RHS Award of Garden Merit, a recognised mark of garden-worthy performance.
Compared with the native species it resembles, this lily flowers more freely, giving a steadier run of large cup-shaped blooms with golden stamens through the display season rather than a brief flush. Dark green foliage sets off the flowers and spreads out well once the plant is established.
Each plant is supplied already growing in its mesh aquatic basket, so it goes straight into the pond without repotting. The 10 litre option comes in a 10 litre basket and the 3 litre option in a 3 litre basket, both ready to plant as they arrive.
