This deep water pond plant gives you drifting yellow flowers across the surface through summer, suited to ponds in full sun or light shade. It comes as a 1 litre potted plant, already sitting in its mesh basket, so it can go straight into the water without repotting.
Nymphoides peltata is a deep water pond plant whose flowers grow on small plantlets that float freely across the water surface. This gives the pond a scattered covering of yellow blooms through the warmer months rather than flowers held in one fixed spot. It's suited to ponds with open water for the plantlets to spread, in a position with full sun or a little afternoon shade.
Each plant is supplied as a 1 litre pot, sitting in its mesh planting basket. There's no need to remove the basket or repot it, so you can lower it straight into the pond once it arrives.
Growth is naturally more vigorous in very shallow, marshy margins than in open water, so it's worth keeping an eye on spread in those spots. Once established, it needs little attention beyond trimming back any excess growth. As a native species, it suits ponds where native planting is a priority.
