Frequently Asked Questions

Which AquaMax Eco Classic model should I choose for my pond?

Work from your pond size and how far the water needs to travel: the 2500 sits at the entry point of the range for smaller ponds or lighter-duty runs, and each step up through 3500, 5500, 8500, 11500 and 14500 to the 17500 is built for a larger pond or a longer, taller run.

Does the pump come with hose fittings?

Yes, a stepped hose adapter and stainless steel hose clamps are included, and the adapter is designed to fit 25, 32 and 38 mm hose diameters.

Can I leave the pump outside over winter?

Yes, it's designed to survive being frozen in ice and snow without damage.

What happens if the pump runs dry or gets blocked?

Environmental Function Control switches the pump off automatically in either situation, which helps prevent damage to the motor. Clear the cause before restarting it.

Can I use this pump for a swimming pond?

Yes, it can be set up in an external pump chamber for use with swimming and natural ponds.

You get a pump that keeps its electricity use, and your running costs, low thanks to an energy-efficient EC motor, plus automatic protection that switches it off if it ever runs dry or gets blocked. The AquaMax Eco Classic range covers seven sizes, so you can match the pump to your pond, watercourse or filter, and it comes with a stepped hose adapter and stainless steel clamps ready to fit. It's also built to survive being frozen over winter, and can be set up in an external chamber for swimming and natural ponds.

Overview

The AquaMax Eco Classic is OASE's entry-level filter and watercourse pump, powered by an energy-efficient EC motor that keeps running costs down while it moves pond water up to your waterfall, watercourse or filter system. It also looks after itself: Environmental Function Control switches the pump off automatically if it runs dry or becomes blocked, which helps prevent damage to the motor.

It's built to sit outside year-round, surviving being frozen in ice and snow without damage, and it can be set up in an external pump chamber for swimming and natural ponds.

Key benefits

  • Energy-efficient EC motor helps keep electricity use, and running costs, down
  • Environmental Function Control shuts the pump off automatically if it runs dry or blocks, protecting it from damage
  • Survives being frozen in ice and snow over winter without damage
  • Wrap-around strainer lets fish waste and other coarse debris pass through rather than clogging the intake
  • Stepped hose adapter and stainless steel clamps are included, fitting a range of hose diameters
  • Swivelling ball joint on the outlet lets you point the flow where you need it
  • Can be set up in an external pump chamber for use with swimming and natural ponds

The range runs from the 2500 up to the 17500, and the model number marks its place in the line-up: lower numbers suit smaller ponds or lighter-duty runs to a filter, waterfall or watercourse, while the higher numbers are built for larger ponds and longer or taller runs. Price rises through the range in step with that increase in capability, from the 2500 through to the 17500 at the top.

Setting it up is straightforward: the stepped hose adapter and stainless steel clamps in the box are designed to fit hoses of 25, 32 and 38 mm, and the outlet sits on a ball joint so you can swivel it to whichever direction suits your setup once it's connected.
