Oase Bitron UV Clarifier

The Bitron clears floating algae and reduces the bacteria that cloud pond water, and its rotor wipes the quartz sleeve automatically as water flows through, so you're not stopping to scrub it clean yourself. Overview

The Oase Bitron UV Clarifier is a UVC pond unit built around a patented self-cleaning rotor, so the quartz sleeve around the lamp gets wiped clear of dirt automatically as pond water flows through it, rather than you needing to take the unit apart and clean it by hand. Water passing through the UV chamber has its floating algae cleared and its bacteria load reduced, which helps keep the pond looking clear.

Bypass technology routes water past the lamp so the UV dose stays effective even when your pump is running at a higher flow rate, which matters if your filter system pushes a lot of water through.

Safety and servicing

The lamp housing opens via a quick-release closure, and a safety switch cuts the UVC lamp automatically the moment you open it, so there's no risk of exposing your eyes to the UV light while you're servicing it. A visual indicator on the casing lets you check the lamp is working without having to open anything up.

Choosing your wattage

The Bitron is available in five power ratings: 24W, 36W, 55W, 72W and 110W. The suitable-pond figures given in the specifications table above are for the 36W model; the other wattages will suit different pond volumes and stocking levels, so use those figures as your starting point and scale your choice up or down to match your own pond, leaning towards a higher wattage for a koi pond or heavier stocking.

Working with your filter

Flow rate through the Bitron can be adjusted individually, so you can tune it to whichever filter pump it's connected to.
