It suits aquascapers building a foreground carpet and gives the tank a compact, curly-leaved texture that stands apart from straighter foreground plants.
Left under good lighting with a nutrient-rich substrate, it sends out side shoots that root in on their own, gradually filling out into a dense low carpet. Each plant typically reaches 5 to 10cm tall and wide, a scale that suits the front of the tank rather than taller mid-ground planting.
What you get is one Pogostemon helferi plant, in the Standard mount size. It isn't usually the easiest carpeting plant for a first attempt, so some aquascaping experience helps it settle in and start spreading.
