Material and construction
This liner is 0.75mm thick EPDM rubber, weighing approximately 1.00kg per square metre. The manufacturer's specification lists an elongation of around 300%, which allows the liner to stretch and adjust to the surface it's laid on as the pond fills and the ground settles.
Box-welded liners
For formal ponds with vertical sides and a flat base, such as Koi ponds, ornamental ponds, water features and rills, this material can also be fabricated into a box-welded liner. It's made to your exact measurements at the manufacturer's facility and supplied as a single ready-fitted item, designed to sit within the structure without loose folds.
Protective matting (optional)
While this liner has good puncture resistance, we'd recommend laying it over a quality underlay to protect against stones and roots in the excavation. AquaSHIELD protective matting is available alongside this liner in 200gsm and 275gsm weights.
Joining and repairs
On-site joining is possible where a project needs more than one sheet or a more complex layout; because SealEco and Elevate are both EPDM rubber materials, sections can be joined using Elevate QuickSeam Tape and QuickSeam FormFlash. If the liner is ever accidentally damaged, a pond liner repair kit can be used to patch small holes.
