Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the Aqua 3 800, 1500 and 4000?

They share the same anti-clog filter cage, Air Mix system and diverter, but flow rises through the range at roughly 750, 1450 and 3850 litres an hour, and the 1500 and 4000 add a telescopic tube, flow adjuster and light holder mount that the 800 doesn't have.

Do I need a separate pre-filter sponge?

No, the wrap-around cage is designed to work without one, which is part of why it needs less regular cleaning.

Can I fit a pond light to this pump?

Yes, on the 1500 and 4000 models, which include a light holder for a HALLEY or NATHUR LED light. The 800 doesn't have this fitting.

What does the Air Mix system do?

You connect the supplied hose to the pump's rotor inlet, and it draws air into the water as it passes through, helping with oxygenation and filtration.

What cable and plug does it come with?

A 10-metre cable fitted with a Schuko (European 3-pin) plug.

You get steady flow to your filter, waterfall or fountain without the regular chore of rinsing a foam pre-filter, thanks to the Sicce Aqua 3's wrap-around anti-clog cage. Route the supplied hose to the pump's rotor inlet and the Air Mix system helps oxygenate the water as it passes through, useful for ponds that are home to fish. Three models cover a range of pond and filter sizes, with the 1500 and 4000 adding a telescopic tube, flow adjuster and light holder mount that the 800 doesn't include.

Overview

The Sicce Aqua 3 is a pond pump built around a wrap-around, anti-clog filter cage that keeps debris above 2mm out without needing a foam pre-filter, so there's less rinsing and cleaning for you to do. It copes with demanding jobs, whether you're driving a filter system, a waterfall, a fountain or a pond stocked with fish. Connect the supplied hose to the pump's rotor inlet and the Air Mix system draws air into the water flow, supporting oxygenation and filtration as it runs.

Key benefits

  • Wrap-around anti-clog cage removes the need for a foam pre-filter and cuts down on cleaning
  • Air Mix system draws air into the water passing through the pump
  • Fine 2mm grid case keeps larger debris out
  • Extra-large base adds stability
  • Diverter included for connecting flexible hose
  • Light holder for a HALLEY or NATHUR LED pond light, on the 1500 and 4000 (not the 800)

Choosing your size

The three models share the same filter cage, Air Mix system and diverter, but differ in flow rate and in what's included for fountain use:

  • Aqua 3 800: around 750 litres an hour, fountain jets included, no light holder mount
  • Aqua 3 1500: around 1450 litres an hour, adds a telescopic tube (plus an extension), a flow adjuster and the light holder mount
  • Aqua 3 4000: around 3850 litres an hour, with the same fountain accessories and light holder mount as the 1500, for bigger ponds or filter runs

Using it day to day

The diverter lets you route flexible hose where you need it, and if you want extra oxygenation the Air Mix hose connects straight to the rotor inlet. On the 1500 and 4000, the light holder gives you a fitting for a HALLEY or NATHUR LED pond light. Because the filter cage doesn't rely on a foam insert, the main upkeep is checking the fine 2mm grid case for debris rather than washing out a sponge.
