Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Marshmallow' is a pond marginal plant with soft pink arum flowers, a deeper pink throat and a pink spathe, and it carries the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Grown in a full sun position on the margin, it gives the planting scheme colour through its flowering period. Each plant is supplied as a 3 litre specimen in its mesh basket, so it can be lowered straight onto the pond shelf at the right depth without repotting or removing the basket. The glossy, arrow-shaped deep green leaves provide a backdrop to the flowers for the rest of the season. Once the foliage has died back in autumn, a light trim just above the water surface is all that is needed to keep the plant tidy for next year.
